2009 Projects
Computer Tutoring
The Komputer Kooks club has been involved in using their own time to run free tutoring courses at the refugee homework centre, for teachers as part of the PD sessions and for parents and family of our students.
iCan
The School Council helped collect cans for the iCan charirty on a mufti day, to be donated to food banks around the region.
Public Protest
The Active Collective helped organise a protest at the Iranian Embassy with members of the Iranian community in Wellington. They were making a statement about the treatment of media and protesters over there after their controversial general elections.
Water Project
The Year 10 Science and Social Studies classes are again working to understand the role of waters and waterways in our eco-system, with a focus on collecting and testing rain-water. They have worked wtih scientists and in labs at Massey University and have gone to local streams and beaches to collect and tally rubbish.
At the end of Term 3, September 7th, two classes have organised a screening of the family film 'Up' to raise funds for this year's project. Tickets are avaiable through the school.
