Maori and Pacific Outreach Programme
This is the second year Wellington East has been involved in this programme and there are fifteen schools in the Wellington region involved. The co-ordinators who will be working with WEGC are Fa'afo'i Seiuli and Leah Taratu (photos from Victoria University website).
The Outreach Programme is a Victoria University initiative which goes out to the community promoting education among Maori and Pacific Island students. Its aim is to support students on their path to further education and helping them realise their potential through encouragement and support including study skills and note taking.
There are weekly sessions on Thursdays at lunch time. Students opt in to the programme and if they attend 80% of the sessions they will be eligible for special activities.
