Some specific subject needs or equipment for subjects such as Art, Graphics, Design, Photography, Food Technology,Soft Materials Technology and Workshop Technology will incurr some costs. Homestay costs, bus passes and personal requirements are also additional costs.
Total School Fee (2012)
NZ$14,000 + Application Fee NZ$200 + Administration/ Pastoral fee NZ$500 = NZ$14,700 in total
All fees are quoted in NZ dollars and include GST. GST is a New Zealand government tax payable on the supply of goods and services. If the GST rate increase, we reserve the right to increase our fees accordingly.
Parents are requested to pay one year in advance whenever possible. Some exemptions to this may be made only on application directly to the Director of International Students or to the Principal.
Accommodation Fees
The Administration and Pastoral care fee which will increase to $500 in 2012 covers administration and pastoral care within the college as well as accommodation aspects of the student's stay. These include the cost of finding and inspecting the homestay, supervising the homestay or the home of a designated caregiver if the student is under 18 years of age, and arranging a move if there is a valid reason, meeting the student at the airport on arrival and taking her to her homestay, and assisting with opening bank accounts or purchasing uniform.
If a student moves a second time in any given year an additional charge of NZ$150 wiill be made to cover costs to the college.
.
Homestay payments to host families are currently NZ $225 NZ per week but will rise to NZ$235 in 2012. These are usually paid fortnightly in advance, and the college will administer these payments at no extra charge.
If a student is in a homestay arranged by the college it is required that the college hold homestay funds for that student and administer these, as legally we have an understanding which equates to a form of contract with the homestay families and have responsibility to ensure payment. Parents must ensure that the student’s homestay account is always in credit. Unused homestay funds will be refunded less any outstanding debts such as toll calls.
Students who are over eighteen years of age often wish to live independently. This is, however, discouraged by the college and only in exceptional circumstances where a student has been in New Zealand for at least one year and is achieving very good results as well as showing herself to be responsible and mature will this be considered by the Director of International Students. The student's health and safety as well as her academic success are our main concerns.
