The English department offers a wide range of analytical and creative activities to students.  They learn about and produce visual, written and oral communication.  In the junior school we encourage a love of literature, with a focus on thinking skills and using technology to create original work.

Online Creative Writing Club

Check out The 820s - the Online Creative Writing Club. Students respond to a writing activity, post their work and give each other feedback. Students value the opportunity to publish their work and share their ideas.

We start offering NCEA credits in Year 10.  As well as offering English at Levels 1, 2 and 3 there is a foundation course at each level which enables students to learn and gain credits at a pace suited to their abilities.
