Level 2 and 3 Visit Local Design Businesses
The level 2 and 3 graphics students visited two local design businesses to gain a better understanding of some potential career pathways that Graphics and Design can lead to.
Anderson Design: Specialising in trophy design and manufacture Ian Anderson talked us through their companies last big project which was to design, manufacture and install the displays for the New Zealand pavilion at the world Expo in Shanghai.
Thonet Chairs: Specialising in chair design, manufacture and retail Russell Millar talked us through the design process for chair manufacture with a focus on patents and copyright.

Programme |
Design and Visual Communication can be taken in Year 9 as one of the compulsory technology subject options that run for two terms. In Year 10 students complete a full year course and begin Level 1 work in Term Four.
Senior Design and Visual Commjunication courses are provided at NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3, and cover a mixture of Graphics design briefs from Architecture, Engineering/Technology and Media.
