In an epic final assembly for the year, there was celebration and tears as we fare-welled staff and Year 13 students and announced the 2009 Prefects.  Kristen gave her final speech and used her special watch to tell us exactly how many days she had been at East.  There was mayhem as one of the Watties' helium balloons flew up to the ceiling and was then saved my a mysterious pair of hands reaching out from the lighting box.  Ms Gainsford got out of her comfort zone by singing four lines of a song solo and Mr Langdon and Mrs Rushbrook gave heartfelt farewell speeches to students.  Ms Aked got a medley of songs in appreciation of her deaning including Beyonce and Michael Jackson numbers.  909 was also announced winner of the Year 9 Shield.  The WEG-CDs were distributed and the school magazines arrived just in the nick of time!
