A Conversation with Authors

Event Name A Conversation with Authors
Start Date 16th May 2009
End Date
Duration N/A
Description

On Wednesday morning, a group of a dozen students had a wonderful opportunity to hear award-winning writers, Uwem Akpan and Joan Thomas talk about their work.  Both have been shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize.  Beryl Fletcher, one of the judges of the prize, was also present.

Senior students were selected to be in the intimate audience, mostly girls from the Book Club, who are known to be avid readers of literature.

Work by all three writers is available in the library and students were encouraged to read works by and about them in advance.Commonwealth
