| Description | In an extended assembly today the students who will receive awards at prize-giving next week were announced. The key awards included leadership prizes for Years 11 and 12, service awards for Year 13, scholarships and academic awards for all year groups. The only prizes not announced were the top scholar awards for Year 13 including dux, the announcement of which will be the climax of the ceremony next Wednesday night. Students then had the luxury of choosing their own prizes as they lined up outside the English Resource Room, which had a treasure-trove of new books laid out for them, from glossy cooking books to weighty novels. There will now be prize-giving practices for those students, where they will be put in a seating order and will practise the art of knowing how to walk and smile and shake hands and take prizes all at once, without falling over. They are also reminded to wear perfect formal uniform on Wednesday. Below: Flora Tupufia, joint winner of the Year 12,Leadership Prize, browsing the prize selections.
