"Really good turn out," says Elise Hoggard (Arts Prefect) ,"even if it's just for the food." "A variety of age groups," added Laura Robinson (Arts Prefect). "Lots of juniors." The attraction of Spectrum is that everything's made by students for students. This puts 'us' in focus, in a very unique and innovative way. Not many schools in the Wellington area can boast their very own art gallery. Because it's in a very convenient location, it'll make your walk to class exponentially better. What's in store for Spectrum? It will be used as a project space for senior art students needing to do installation work later in the year. Photos and text by Flora Lu of Year 10. Below: Arts Prefects, Elise and Laura, at the beginning of the gallery. Ms Haughton and Ms Fordyce view some art work at the opening with a student. |

What used to be a plain white corridor has been transformed into Spectrum, a gallery to showcase students' latest creations and masterpieces. An opening ceremony was held on Monday at the beginning of lunch, which had a massive audience. Ms Haughton had the honour of cutting the silver ribbon which kept with the minimalistic vibe of the gallery.
