Smoke-Free Week

Event Name Smoke-Free Week
Start Date 14th Sep 2009
End Date
Duration N/A
Description

Smokefree WeekSmokefree WeekThe Sports Committee and PE Department have organised a week of fun lunch-time events to encourage students to be smoke-free.  A former NZ Idol winner will be performing later in the week and is setting up a support group for students who want to quit smoking, which several people have already signed up for.  The health nurse is also in school this week with heavily subsidised (cheap!) nicotine patches and advice on how to quit.

As well as providing useful information and starting up a support group, they are getting students to look at marketing and who it effects, especially youth.

Top: Riki-Lee and Brooke of Year 11 show off some of their giveaways in front of one of the Smoke-Free display boards set up by the committee.

Left: Girls take part in today's competition for prizes - a bib-race.
