Seuss Assembly Surprises

Event Name Seuss Assembly Surprises
Start Date 4th Jun 2009
End Date
Duration N/A
Description

Stripes and rhymes are the order of the day, as the prefects announced things in a lyrical way.

Thursday's prefect led assembly had many twists and turns, keeping the whole school amused.  The girls had decided to pay homage to the wise and wonderful Dr Seuss, so they had a powerpoint of inspiring pictures and quotes from his stories running, and delivered every announcement in rhyme (even Ms Aked's dismissing of students at the end followed suit with 'Stand up please, not on your knees').

There was a house challenge, where one representative from each house had to complete a rhyme given to them by the house prefects.  While there were moments of hilarity, with Alana waxing lyrical about how Onslow was blue.... and you shouldn't urinate in the ocean, Jellicoe's representative somehow saying her house was blue and all had knobbly knees, and Aroha somehow relating the need to be in a choir with the superiority of Bledisloe, Monika Mohenska managed to thread together some sense in order to win the challenge for Fergusson, who are yellow like the sun.seuss1seuss2seuss3
