Description

Year 13 student, Ailsa Lipscombe, gained 2nd place in the regional Race Unity Speech Competition.  It is held annually and this year's theme was 'A Good Neighbour can be any race or culture.'  Ailsa drew on her own experiences of growing up in Island Bay and having neighbours rush to her help during a personally tough time.

Mina Boag in Year 12 and Vanessa Bramwell of Year 13 also entered.  They were targeted as part of the Senior Gifted and Talented Programme.
