Students
PI Homework Club
2008 saw a successful reforming of the senior Pacific Island homework club. It has previously been run by Ms Mai'a'i and Ms Elisara, and finished 2009 under the guidance of Ms Baigent. In 2010 it will be run by Ms Anderson.
A committed group of 15-20 senior students turn up to the library on Tuesdays 3.30-5pm and get help from teachers in various subjects. They start with healthy snacks and are able to study in a focussed and friendly environment, with access to computers and internet for research.
In 2010 we also have the Outreach programme running at our school, where staff associated with Victoria University are running study skills sessions every week with senior Pacific Island and Maori students. These sessions are currently on Wednesday lunch times and will run during academic electives later in the year.
