Music Groups
Wellington East has always taken pride in calling itself a musical school. Our strong music department supports a wide range of talents, from choral singing to concert band, chamber music, orchestra and a rock band. In 2010 the Music Prefect is Emily Wilby, who is a top level violinist who is in the orchestra and small choir as well as conducting the senior choir and being in the ukulele group.

Big Sing
We had four choirs at the regional competition and they ended up taking home the most prizes of any Wellington school, with Cantala qualifying for nationals.

The annual concert was a showcase of talent with all the bands and choirs at the school performing.
