Small Choir

The Wellington East Girls' College Small Choir is the school's only auditioned choir, and with a prestigious reputation, the choir is well-known by the public for performing at an extremely high calibre at events around Wellington. They are directed by ex-East student Alexandra Hay, and rehearse for two hours every week.

Farewell to Beloved Director
Old-girl Alex Hay was farewelled as director of the Small Choir in a special assembly. She has other exciting music related projects to work on.
Choral Fest Successes
The Small Choir won two awards at the Big Sing this year.
Small Choir Camp
On May 1-3, the choir went to Forest Lakes on their annual Small Choir Camp, to work on their repertoire in preparation for The Big Sing, which they will be competing in in June.
Mother's Day Concert
On Sunday 10 May they performed at a Mother's Day concert hosted by the Families Commission.
Music Department Concert
Small Choir performed at the Music Department concert on the 27 May.
Plaque from Governor General
Following several performances last year at government house, the Small Choir have been presented with a plaque from the Governor General, commending them for the work they have done.
