Prefects

WEGC has 25 prefects  (see 2010's list) and this year they will be led by Jenna Bone, who is Head Prefect, and Ana Popovich, our Deputy Head Prefectprefects-2010.

In 2008 WEGC developed a new prefects system. 

  • The top applicants are interviewed by panels of teachers and reigning prefects
  • Prefects have the autonomy to form their own committees and also have support from designated mentoring teachers
  • Each prefect position has a job description and area

 

2010 Prefect Lead Events

  • The Tuakana Prefects organised orientation events for the Year 9s, including the Amazing Race
  • The Charity Prefect and her committee is involved in Relay for Life
  • The House Prefects helped prepare chants and banners and encourage participation at Athletics Day
  • A special assembly was held for prefects and their families, at which they received their badges
