On Wednesday 28 February we will be holding our annual House Sports Carnival here at school. We encourage students to wear non-uniform in house colours that are comfortable for them to wear in all events. Students should wear and bring sunblock, sunhat, warm jacket, drink bottle and lunch.

The day will start in house groups and students should go directly to these spaces at 8.45am:

Tirikatene - Red - Top field by classrooms
Sheppard - Blue - Hall
Edgar - Green - Quad
Cooper - Yellow - Back Courts

Attendance is compulsory for all students. There will be roll checks throughout the day.  Students need to follow the carnival’s timesheet closely, and arrive at events on time.

In addition to our usual cafe menu, our Service Prefects will be doing a fundraising  sausage sizzle on the top field at lunchtime to raise money for Rei Kōtuku.

If a student has an appointment during the day, they must have a note and sign out in the usual way at Hauora Reception.

Cancellations will be placed on our social media sites – the WEGC website, Facebook page, Instagram and an email notice.  It will be cancelled only if the weather is very bad.

ATHLETIC OPPORTUNITIES: The WEGC House Sports Carnival is a combination of fun inter-house and sport activities. For those students who would like to be considered for selection to represent WEGC at the Regional Athletic Championships on Tuesday 26 March at Newtown Stadium, please complete the online registration form letting us know your favoured events and your personal best for the season (if you have one). The Regional Athletics Championships  is a competitive athletic meet. You can find the registration form at this link: https://sites.google.com/wegc.school.nz/wegcsport/sports-on-offer/athletics

We look forward to a great day.

Ngā mihi nui,
