A Learning Conference is an annual meeting to help develop a strong learning partnership between the student, their whānau and their Ako teacher, and as such it is very important for all parties to participate.

Students will have work set by their teachers and will be learning from home on these days, when they are not attending their Learning Conference.  There will be two options for whānau to attend their Learning Conferences either onsite or online. Please have a conversation with your whānau and make a decision on what will work best for you.

  • Thursday 23 March, Onsite - In person
  • Friday 24 March, Online

Each Conference will be 15 minutes long which your student will facilitate, with the support of their Ako Teacher. There is one booking per student. In the junior school (Years 9 and 10) the discussion will focus on general progress, goal setting, and wellbeing. In the senior school (Years 11 – 13) the focus will be similar, with some time dedicated to planning of assessment.

Bookings for Learning Conferences will be made through our online platform which will open up at 9:00am on Friday 17 March. Booking details will be sent out a day earlier with instructions on how to book your Learning Conference with the Ako Teacher via the parent interviews booking platform.

If you have any students under 14 years who need to be supervised please contact me and we will arrange supervision.  School buses will not operate in the afternoon of Thursday 23rd March or Friday 24th of March.

We look forward to meeting with you throughout this process.
