Melink has informed us that fares will return to normal across the region from 1 July. Fares, including the handling of cash, were temporarily suspended to support the Government's public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 Update - 18/3/2020 Self Isolation

There has been a new announcement from the Prime Minister this afternoon. She is advising anyone who has been overseas in the last two weeks to self-isolate, even if they returned to New Zealand before the official deadline. We need to continue to follow the advice of our government and health officials, and as a consequence we request that any student or staff member who returned to New Zealand prior to Monday’s border restrictions stay away from Wellington East Girls’ College for the balance of their 14 days.

In line with Ministry of Health advice, any member of our school community who returns to New Zealand from overseas after 11.59pm on Sunday 15 March, or has been in close contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19, is required to self-isolate, stay away from the Wellington East Girls’ College campus for 14 days, and register using Healthline's dedicated COVID-19 number 0800 358 5453.

Asbestos Removal - Village Prefabs

As part of the planning to remove the prefabs from the village area at the front of the school, asbestos has been identified in the cladding of some of the prefabs. The village is no longer occupied due to the migration into the new building. The area has been isolated and there is no access for students, parents and staff.
