There will be a Teacher Only Day on Friday 15 November. The school will remain open and any student wishing to be at school should report to the School Office, where supervised study will be arranged. There are NO NCEA exams scheduled for this day. The Supported Learning Classroom will not be open on this day.

Our Prize Giving is on Thursday 31 October at 6.30pm, at the Alan Gibbs Centre at Wellington College.

As part of the planning to re-roof a section of the Ahumairangi (East Wing) asbestos has been identified in the cladding.

There will be a Teacher Only Day on Friday 16 August.

Join us and Annabelle White, Celebrity Chef, famous food writer and author of eleven cookbooks, as part of our Inspirational Breakfast Series on Thursday 29th August. Students, family and friends all welcome.

The aim of the evening is to inform you and your daughters of the wide range of courses on offer and to answer any questions you may have regarding subject requirements, NCEA, University Entrance and possible career pathways.

Senior exams are being held from Monday 19 August to Friday 23 August.

Breakfast Club is on every morning 8 - 8.30am. Please see the poster for further details

Speaking on "Tips to help with passing exams and being career ready"

Our annual Course Selection Evening is being held Tuesday 13 August, 6pm - 8pm. Further information on the evening will be sent to Year 9 - 12 parents later this week.

Declaration of Parent and Staff Election Results

The Wellington East Girls’ College Branch of the PPTA has advised that there will be a Paid Union Meeting (PUM) for members of the PPTA on Wednesday 26 June at 1.00 pm. There will be no classes that afternoon. Students may leave the college at 11.45 am.

We have received formal notice from the PPTA that the proposed industrial actions on the 25 June (Year 11) and 2 July (Year 12) have been cancelled.. This means school will be open on on both these days for all year levels.

We have received confirmation from the PPTA that the rolling regional strikes planned to commence Monday 17 June are no longer happening.

We have scheduled report evenings which are an opportunity for parents and students to meet with their subject teachers.

The Ministry of Education has recently announced important changes to NCEA fees. Fees will no longer be charged for domestic students participating in NCEA and New Zealand Scholarship, with funding instead to be provided directly to NZQA by the Government

School hours during Open Day

The PPTA have cancelled the industrial action which they had planned for Tuesday 11th June. School will be open for instruction for all students.

As part of the planning to remove the prefabs from the village area at the front of the school, asbestos has been identified in the cladding of some of the prefabs. The village is no longer occupied due to the migration into the new building. The area has been isolated and there is no access for students, parents and staff.

The PPTA have confirmed that as part of the industrial action planned to support contract negotiations they will be withdrawing labour for different year levels groups over the next four weeks.

On behalf of the Wellington East Girls’ College Board of Trustees, it is my great pleasure to announce the appointment of Gael Ashworth to the role of Principal. Gael will take up her position on 8 July 2019.

Voting papers have now been sent out for the Board Of Trustees election. Voting closes at noon 7 June.

The Post Primary Teachers' Association (PPTA) has indicated to the Wellington East Girls' College Board of Trustees that teachers at our school will be taking strike action on Wednesday 29 May 2019. The strike will affect all students.

We are ontrack with the plans to open the new building.

Due to the Learning Conferences on Wednesday the school day will be altered. School will finish at 12.30pm this day

The rescheduled date for Learning Conferences will be Wednesday 10th April from 1.30pm – 7pm.

Due to an incident the decision has been made to postpone this afternoon's Learning Conferences. Students will still leave at 12.15pm today.

Learning Conferences will be held on Thursday 4 April from 1pm - 7pm and on Friday 5 April from 8.30am - 4.30pm.
