Our Annual Learning Conferences will be held on Thursday 19 March and Friday 20 March

A Learning Conference is an annual meeting to help develop a strong learning partnership between the student, their whānau, and their Kaimanaaki. As such it is very important for all parties to participate.

All students will still take part in learning on these days. Teachers will set work for students in Google Classroom and students are expected to be working independently at home on these days, apart from when they are attending their Learning Conference.

There are two options for whānau to attend their Learning Conferences either in-person or online, and there is information below on how to book these:

  • Thursday 19 March: At WEGC (in-person meetings)
  • Friday 20 March: Online (virtual meetings)

Each Conference will be 15 minutes long which your student will facilitate, with the support of their Kaimanaaki. You should only make one booking per student.

In the junior school (Years 9 and 10) the discussion will focus on general progress, goal setting, and wellbeing. In the senior school (Years 11 – 13) the focus will be similar, with some time dedicated to planning of assessment.

Bookings for Learning Conferences will be made through our online platform which is now open and will close for bookings at 4:30pm on Wednesday 18 March. Emails have been sent out on how to book.

Once you have booked your session, Kaimanaaki will be in touch with you with a reminder closer to the time.

It is important that your student attends the Learning Conference with you. For those attending on site parking will be available on the back courts, please take care as you enter and exit the school via Gate A. Please come to the main reception area at least five minutes before your appointment to find the location of your student’s Manaaki space. We will have staff to help guide you.
